"Manggis (Garcinia mangostana) adalah pokok tropika malar hijau dan dipercayai berasal dari Kepulauan Sunda dan Maluku. Pokok manggis boleh tumbuh dari 7 hingga 25 meter dan menghasilkan buah berwarna ungu pekat yang boleh dimakan. Buah manggis dikenali sebagai "ratu segala buah" sementara buah durian (Durio spp.) dikenali sebagai "raja segala buah".

Kulit buah manggis agak keras dan dengan garispusat 4-6 cm. Buah manggis terdiri daripada isi warna putih yang berukur garispusat 3-5 cm. Bergantung kepada saiz dan masak, ia mungkin berbiji.

Rasa manggis boleh dibandingkan dengan strawberi putik dengan rasa-rasa manis limau. Buah manggis jarang dijual di negara Barat kecuali di kedai runcit Asia. Kulit manggis menghasilkan warna merah, dan amat sukar ditanggalkan.

Manggis dibuka dengan mengopek bukannya dipotong. Buah manggis dipegang dengan kedua belah tangan, ditekan perlahan-lahan sehingga kulitnya terbelah. Selepas itu, ianya mudah untuk membuka dan mengambil isinya."

Round Looking Tree


Round looking "pokok tar" with white sky background. "Pokok tar" are common in north-east Kelantan, Malaysia and South Thailand. l saw "pokok tar" in Cambodia too, however, this tree was recorded in Pasir Puteh, Paiton, East Java. Common product from this trees are tuak, which a type of head-splitting brew and manisan, a type of traditional sugar.

Sudah Lama


Sudah lama aku tidak menulis. Kerja, kerja dan kerja mungkin menjadi punca. Begitu juga dalam kehidupan aku ini, kerja dan perjalanan hidup mungkin lebih menarik perhatianku untuk mengimbangkan peruntukan masa duniawi dan ukhrawi. Sudah lama aku tidak melangkah kaki untuk majlis ilmu. Sehingga kan sudah banyak halaman kitab Perukunan Jawi ini dibaca oleh Guru. Ahh, sudah lama aku tidak menadah kitab kerana pada masa yang sama aku lebih suka menadah mata dan telinga melihat berita di tv. Ahh, sudah lama aku tidak menulis, karat dijemari ku kian terasa.... Ahh, sudah lama aku tidak kemajlis seperti itu, karat dihatiku semakin kematu...
